Our Story
At Mirama Quartz Industries (MQI), we strive to deliver the best products which meet our customer demands while delivering quality which is enriched in our soils in this treasure trove; Sri Lanka.
MQI is reputed for being one of Sri Lanka’s leading mineral miners. Our processing plant is geared to process and supply local and international markets with a diverse product range which include Silica Quartz , Kaolin and Feldspar.
The finest grade of Silica are extracted from MQI’s own Mines which are located in and around the highlands of Sri Lanka. Today, MQI are globally recognized for being one of few producers of High Purity Silica(Si02 99.87% & Fe203 0.13%) having exported and currently exporting to Japan and South Korea.

Our Mines
MQI’s own mines are geographically located in the highlands of Sri Lanka. Its quartz veins containing large deposits of high purity Si02 Quartz continues to contribute to its range of high quality products.
All mining activities at MQI are carried out ethically with the most appropriate practices being implemented at every step of the way, ensuring the best for both; people and nature.
The Mine Staff are paid a fair wage and are required to follow the safety measures implemented to negate any health and safety hazards that can occur while mining.
MQI’s mining activities are active in and around the central highlands of Sri Lanka in namely; Delthota and Badulla.
Our Processing Facilities
MQI’s processing facility is located in a strategic location between its Mine’s and the nearest Ports to ensure optimum efficiency in its supply chain.
MQI’s processing facility is geared to ensure optimum efficiency in output and consistency in its end product as a result of the operational standards implemented throughout all stages of production.
From the sourcing of the raw material until the final inspection of the product and export packaging, regular quality inspections are carried out to ensure it meets the requirement of its customers for every order.
The MQI Processing facility is designed in a manner to avoid causing any damage/pollution to the environment or hindrances to the surrounding neighborhoods.
